Everybody Go Out and Buy........

'The Wire' DVD boxsets! A fantastic show about drugs in Baltimore that takes in the perspectives of the police, drug dealers and druggies. I haven't even got to the end of the first season yet but i know i'll be straight down the shops (if any are still open) to buy the second as soon as my uni exams are over for another few months. This is another example of HBO coming up trumps and making even the best British tv dramas look like they were made by five year olds at breaktime. I bought five seasons of Curb Your Enthusiasm last year based on hearsay and reviews alone (having never seen a single episode) and they didn't disappoint so i decided to do the same thing this year and again the quality of the programming was astonishing. In the UK it seems that six episodes of anything automatically counts as a series which is then released on DVD for an extortionate price. For £15 you get 13 hours (an hour per episode which really is maxed out) of quality programming here. BUY IT! :D
(the greatest ever 'the office' quote)...

I watched all five series on FX but I'm planning to get them on DVD at some point. I'm waiting to see if the complete boxset comes down in price.

Its not the same boxset as the one on Amazon. It is a different region but it shouldn't matter with regards playing it for me. The extras might be different though.

FX are showing David Simon's 2000 Emmy winning miniseries The Corner from next Monday (Simon being the creator of The Wire).

Great news will just wait until Timbo buys it and then borrow it and never give it back. Job done.

The Wire is one of those programs that I should have watched, but there is just not enough time to watch all the TV and play all the games I want to !

I still have two episodes of Breaking Bad to watch and that finished months ago !

I get a good supply of films to watch from my Czech friend at work and I'm way behind on those. I've got games like Oblivion I haven't even opened yet.
And soon we have the last series of Battlestar starting as well as watching Burn Notice and all the football that is on.

My cartoon watching has dwindled to nothing !
But I did manage to watch Wall-E last weekend......it's OK, but nothing more.

KC, you'd love The Wire. It would give you more fuel to your anti-drugs rants.

I do that in the bath, every night. If I didn't, I'd never have time ! We have a shower, but I've found that comics tend to get a lot wetter in the shower. [smilie=icon_mrhappy.gif]
