Thank fuck for that !

Today is my lads 5th birthday and I bought him a new City away shirt. I honestly thought it could be the last City shirt I ever bought the way things were going.

Deffo taking young Chillout with me to the first game back.

At least a modicum of sanity has finally been restored and the realisation of mutual financial destruction has hit home. Maybe slightly surprising given SISU appealed the JR but there we go.

I reckon home crowds around the 5-7k mark + away fans. Personally, I still won't be returning until we're under new ownership

commonsense prevails.

I honestly thought there was more chance of ISIS sitting down & chatting things through calmly with the US State Department

I'm still not going though - it's shit. [smilie=icon_mrhappy.gif]

Good news for the short term but still leaves longer term questions about the clubs ability to survive.

Why what?

Why do I think those will be the crowds (apart from the first few games which could be 15-20k)? Because we only got 10k av. before we left, and now there are a decent number who have lost all faith in the owners and will not return regardless.

Why won't I be returning? Because I don't think SISU/Otium are worthy owners of our club. Their business decisions have proven disastrous, from selling the emerging talent they purchased on taking over for a quick profit eventually leading to relegation to moving the club and massively reducing its revenue. Add on to that the disdain it treated the fans with, assuming they'd make the journey because they're like junkies who need their fix and the unethical practices they've employed in the stadium row and I just cannot bring myself to support this regime in any way, and I make absolutely no apologies for that stance.

If others wish to return I'm very happy for them, and hope they get to see some good football.

If I was being negative I'd have said the bigger crowds will obviously lead to a dip in performances and results ;-)

I have a feeling there could be close on to thirty thousand for the comeback game.

I think this could be a pivital moment for the club. The people of Coventry and the surrounding area have come as close as possible to losing their football club. If that doesn't get the fans off their backsides and up to the games then nothing will. We, as fans, need to dismiss the concerns we have about SISU and just pack the ground at every opportunity.

Hopefully the club will have a good think about ticket prices and finally realise that they have been farcical for years. They need to show the fans that this is a brand new start and that they are valued rather than just seen as a cash cow. Having said that, I would not be at all surprised to see SISU try and go back to the old pricing range and shit all over any good will they might have built up.

Excellent news. I think your being a bit optomistic with close to 30k Chil. I'm expecting 15-20k as plenty of people refusing to return until SISU are down the road.

Spot on, The Yid! ;-)

Aside from that, it seems my idea for a 'Not One Whinger More' campaign, might have some support. Comes complete with the tag-line:

'If you're not going back, good for you! But you already know that, and nobody else cares'.

Out of interest did anyone note any of the finer details? Just wondering what would happen to the non-football revenue streams etc - do the club or ACL get these.

Oh and Dogga cheers mate send it over = alternatively see ya Friday.

I might agree it's a pivital (sic) moment, if I knew what pivital meant....? ;-)

As far as I'm aware all the details are being kept confidential. I've looked and can't find anything thus far on revenue streams, rental cost etc. I haven't even seen if the shop will be re-opened (although you would assume it would) or if the club will be moving back into the offices or staying at Ryton (probably the latter).

Going on what has been said before, TF/SW have talked about a matchday only rental agreement of the arena, so if that is the line they've gone down I don't see how or why the club would get revenues from other events. If you're talking beer/food the contract with Compass would have to be annulled and the cost of that would be quite prohibitive. Car parking - who knows, but again if it is just rental of the stadium bowl I'd say the answer is probably not.

Personally I think the club have finally realised it's worth more getting more ticket sales and no other sources of income than pathetic gates with the additional income elsewhere.
